Trader of the Month - Mirosław: 430 transactions and 98,14% efficiency [Tickmill competition]

created Paweł Mosionek11 May 2018

Trader of the month - April 2018

Mirosław is one of the two winners in the April edition of the Tickmill - Trader of the Month competition. The Pole managed to earn slightly over 30% in 11 days. And there would be nothing exceptional about it, if not for the fact that the total profit exceeded PLN 100 (i.e. Mirosław operated with capital oscillating around PLN 000 million). Is it not enough to become the best trader? Keep reading.

The Polish investor has made 430 transactions, of which 98,14% of them ended with a profit! It's unbelievable efficiency. How did Mirosław do it? Had he a time machine? 🙂 Details are described below, and for the more inquisitive, we also include the account history from April. Therefore, we warmly congratulate our countryman of incredibly spectacular trading!

Tickmill doubles the prize
From September 2017, the broker will be able to select not one and two traders of the month, where each of them will receive an award of 1000 $

422 with 430 transactions completed with profit

Stunning efficiency, stable capital growth and approx. 20 transactions a day. Looking at the account history, you can see a great consistency in Mirosław's trading. There were only two currency pairs - USD / JPY and GBP / USD. Interestingly, all transactions were for the same volume - 2.0 lots. Often times positions were opened one after the other, in the same direction and at very similar rates.

The transaction life time is usually from several to several dozens of minutes, and the lack of Stop Loss and Take Profit orders is suggested that Mirosław had to closely monitor the market or use an additional tool that managed the process of closing the transaction.

Interestingly, the principle "Cut losses and let profits grow" it didn't apply here. All positions were closed at a relatively small profit. Only three times the profit per position was higher than PLN 1000 (and not much), while one of the few losing positions was closed at PLN -2700.

This suggests the use of a "grid" strategy. But since the monthly profit was stable and satisfactory, is this really a wrong approach?

competition rules

The trader is selected by the Tickmill Jury. The win is not only determined by the rate of return - it is the total that matters. Overall, i.e. the factors such as earned profit, position management, risk and trading skills are taken into account. There is also one more necessary condition - interviewing the broker and consent to make the account history public. Only then does the prize of $ 1 go to the trader's investment account.

The principles introduced are aimed not only at showing that you can make money on the Forex market, but also consciously educate and encourage sharing experience with other traders.
