Trader of the Month in December earned 1239% [Tickmill Contest]

created Paweł MosionekJanuary 5 2018

The December edition of the "Trader of the Month" competition was outclassed by a trader named Sukirman. The 4-digit rate of return, over 150 transactions and almost $ 31 profit per month provided the trader with an additional bonus - a reward from the Tickmill broker of $ 000. This is one of the most impressive results in the history of the Contest, which brings out successful traders on a scale of 1000 days. Below we present an interview with Sukirman, transaction history and a brief analysis of his strategy.

Tickmill doubles the prize
From September 2017, the broker will be able to select not one and two traders of the month, where each of them will receive an award of 1000 $

1239% profit in 30 days

A dizzying rate of return and after conversion of over PLN 100 profit - this is the result of the strategy used by the trader. When analyzing the history of moves, you can immediately see that the dominant instrument is the EUR / USD pair. Only a few trades were made on instruments with JPY and NZD. Transaction volume? Relatively small at first - 000 lots, 0,35 lots. However, along with the growing capital, the flights were more and more boldly turned up to 0,4 flights at the climax. A total of 24 items were concluded, of which 158 ended with a profit.

The capital curve, the duration of the transaction and the way of entering the market suggest, however, that despite high efficiency and huge profits, he risked a lot. In his strategy, he relied on the so-called averaging (Grid type strategy) and increasing market involvement when transactions did not go his way. This approach ensures a high percentage of profitable transactions, but also causes that in longer trends, without adequate security, it can quickly lead to bankruptcy.

Sukirman's capital curve

Transaction history in numbers:

  • Profit: 30864,79 $
  • Return: 1239,55%
  • Total number of transactions: 158
  • Profitable transactions: 82,17%

Interview with a trader

How long have you been involved in trade?

I have been trading since around 4-5 for years.

How did your adventure with Forex trading begin?

I became interested in the Forex market, becoming a part-time trader. I trade outside of my daily work hours.

What is your trading style?

I use Price Action strategy.

Do you have any risk management policies?

Yes, capital management protects your account against destruction.

What good habits should investors be fooled about?

A realistic look at market opportunities. And good mental training.

Describe your best / most-remembered transaction (How much did you earn? What strategy did you use? On which pair?)

The highest profit was recorded by trading on a pair of EUR / USD. I managed to earn over a thousand pips over 4. I used the Price Action strategy. I prefer the EUR / USD pair because it is the most popular and liquid one.

What advice would you give to novice investors?

Get to know the market step by step. Do not rush. Focus on the process, not on the results.

Considering the current market situation, what do you think data / investors should pay attention to?

The condition of the US dollar is likely to lead to high uncertainty in the market. The basic macroeconomic data from the US are also uncertain.

What is the most important thing you expect from a Broker?

Honest quotes, simple withdrawal process and competitive spreads.

competition rules

The trader is selected by the Tickmill Jury. The win is not only determined by the rate of return - it is the total that matters. Overall, i.e. the factors such as earned profit, position management, risk and trading skills are taken into account. There is also one more necessary condition - interviewing the broker and consent to make the account history public. Only then does the prize of $ 1 go to the trader's investment account.

The principles introduced are aimed not only at showing that you can make money on the Forex market, but also consciously educate and encourage sharing experience with other traders.
