Supervisor TVN: BitBay under the control of gangsters

TVN broadcast material "TVN Supervisor", whose authors claim that the largest is Poland Bitbay cryptocurrency exchange is under gangster control.

- I am an unpunished person, but there are many more lies in the document - emphasizes Sylwester Suszek, president and founder of Bitbay, who has already announced the action of his lawyers.

Journalists of "Supervisor" TVN admit that they dealt with the topic of the largest Polish cryptocurrency exchange by accident. They read a report prepared by the European Union, which explicitly stated that cryptocurrencies are not of interest to gangsters, because they are simply too stupid for it. This is obviously absurd, because it is well known that even drug barons invest some funds in cryptocurrencies. What's more, some cryptocurrencies that guaranteed full anonymity of transactions - such as Dash - has been withdrawn from cryptocurrency exchanges precisely because they were used for gangster settlements.

- We also did not want to believe it, because we knew that our criminals are quite technologically advanced and far from people who robbed trucks a long time ago. And that's how it started - said Michał Fuja, one of the authors of the report, who does not leave a dry thread on the largest Polish cryptocurrency exchange - Bitbay.

Journalistic investigation in the style of Latkowski

The material is edited in the style of the king of Polish paradocuments, i.e. Sylwester Latkowski. There are a lot of understatements and photos that are supposed to affect simple associations. Sylwester Suszek, founder and president Bitbay exchanges, is presented as a playboy, who likes fast cars and other luxury toys.

Then fatal accusations are made. Persons "Behind the Bitbay exchange" were to be sentenced, inter alia, for pimping, robberies and VAT fraud. The authors claim that the reportage lasted a year. Patryk Szczepaniak and Michał Fuja from "Supervisor" say that they even began to receive threats.

- We show the connections of the cryptocurrency business with the criminal world and these are people who in the past were accused of complicity in the murder and extorting heavy millions from the State Treasury. We know we are being targeted by these people - says Michał Fuja.

They also add that they were offered them PLN 1 million in bribes for withdrawing from broadcasting the report.

Sylwester Suszek: I'm not punished

It didn't take long for the president of Bitbay to respond. In the recording posted on YouTube, he responded to some of them and showed evidence that - in his opinion - is to testify to the stretched theses of the report.

- The detective agency I hired reached the man who appears in it, listen for yourself - says Sylwester Suszek and plays the recording in which we hear the dialogue:

"- Are the photos documenting the transfer of money by Sylwester Suszek real?

- No, it was staged, such a situation did not take place. The staging was prepared by Michał Fuja, the author of the report. It was supposed to help in pressing Sylwester Suszek, and in fact increasing the audience. Nobody ever persuaded me to give money to Sylwester Suszek and I can confirm it in court. "

The president of Bitbay also claims that the phonoscopic expert confirmed that the voice from the recording belongs to the same person who was supposed to present in the material the money intended for the alleged bribe.

It also refers to the links with people depicted in the material as gangsters with a rich file.

- I know these people. At the beginning, we were looking for an investor and different people appeared. The fact is, however, that I bought all the share packages in the first stage of activity. As for the rest of the "allegations", I do not hide my assets from the cryptocurrency exchange, and earlier their mining. You know me, I have a lot of expensive toys, but my actions are transparent. I achieved everything with my head, idea and, of course, luck. But the report is a total hoax - ends Sylwester Suszek, who says lawyers will defend his good name.
