Forex Account Fees - List of Brokers Charging Inactivity Fees
Increasingly, Forex brokers from around the world are choosing to introduce a fee for maintaining an account on which for a long time no investment activity has been shown by the client. It is a situation in which our account has funds all the time and we do not enter into any transactions on it.
You might think that this is a new idea for extra earnings and taking over some of the customer deposits. None of these things. The reason for extending the price list by the above-mentioned item is most often the problematic "pennies" lying on forgotten accounts. Looking at the diversity of brokers' countries of origin, it is difficult to talk about collusion. This policy is applied by both the Polish broker XTBand Latvian Dukascopy Europe. There are also companies from Cyprus like FxPro or XMand even Great Britain (CMC Markets).
This issue is more broadly we explain in a separate article. Here, however, we will focus on listing brokers' offers, in which such fees are included in their price lists.

Forex account fees and debit
All brokers unanimously declare that Forex account fees are charged according to a predetermined amount or less if the account does not have its equivalent. This means that the fee collected does not create an overdraft, and it even happens that when returning to trade with a given company, the collected funds can be returned or credited towards future commissions.

- * In the case of a return to trading in CMC Markets, there is a possibility of reimbursement of costs incurred for a maximum of 3 months.
- ** Dukascopy Europe will charge a maximum of 40 EUR.
- *** Tickmill only charges fees on accounts with less than GBP 10, USD 10, EUR 10 or PLN 25. Profit from the fees charged in full is donated to charity.
Ways to avoid fees
There are several methods that will allow us to avoid account fees that we do not use. Each of them is allowed by all the brokers listed above.
How to avoid fees:
- Withdraw all funds if you do not plan to use the invoice. After a while, your account may go to "Sleep state", but you can always reactivate them later.
- Open one position on any instrument, even the smallest allowed volume, and close it after one second. This is a simple way to reduce the fee to the amount of the spread (approx. PLN 0,20 for a lot of 0.01 per EUR / USD).
- Close the bill. This is the final option, but it makes sense when you are determined to end the adventure with a given broker. Otherwise, if you want to return to it with your investments, you will have to undergo the entire registration procedure again. Then option 1 is better.
