DAX FOREX broker - Trading on the German index is one of the most popular ways to trade on Forex platforms today. It is not surprising because in recent years you can clearly see a decline in volatility on currency instruments, while stock indices are experiencing a second (or rather another) youth. Dynamic movements and relatively low transaction costs effectively encourage retailers to speculate on DAX.

CFDs are complex instruments and come with a high risk of losing money rapidly due to leverage. From 68% to 89% of retail investor accounts record monetary losses as a result of trading CFDs. Think about whether you understand how CFDs work and whether you can afford the high risk of losing your money.

DAX broker and CFD trading

Forex brokers usually have a derivative available (contract for exchange differences - CFD) based on the DAX index, which has its own specification and symbol determined individually. The CFD instrument itself does not have top-down standardization, which makes the DAX offered in IC Markets may have different trading hours and even different parameters than e.g. XTB. Therefore, it is necessary to know the specifications of financial instruments or use a demo account before trading.

DAX margin

As it results from the data presented in the table, the margin required to conclude transactions on the DAX index depends primarily on two factors:

  1. the required level of collateral by the broker (so-called margin), i.e. the amount of financial leverage,
  2. current DAX course.

The higher the leverage, the lower the level of deposit required. For brokers from the European Union, such as Tickmill or FxPro, the standard is a leverage of 1:20, i.e. 5% security. The higher the index is, the more collateral increases. For these brokers, at a rate of 10 points, a security of EUR 000 (500% of 5) will be required. However, if the rate soars up to 10 points, then the collateral will be twice as high (similarly if the rate drops to 000 points).

Higher leverage for the experienced

For people who already have more experience, it is possible to raise the leverage when changing the status of the client to professional or experienced. It is enough to meet certain requirements, which we describe in separate articles:

DAX index - what is it?

(DAXDeutscher Aktienindex) is the most important stock index on the German stock exchange Deutsche Boerse. It consists of 40 largest companies in terms of capitalization and turnover. Until September 20, 2021, the index included 30 companies, however after the Wirecard scandal, it was decided to expand it. Most of the DAX40 companies are world leaders in selected industries, incl. Bayer (drug manufacturer), Allianz (insurance), Basf (chemicals), BMW, Volkswagen, Daimler (automotive), SAP (software), Adidas (sportswear). The first quotations took place on July 1, 1988 from the level of 1163,52 points.

The German index is based on the electronic XETRA system and is an index result index (from performanceindex), i.e. taking into account both share prices and capital growth through the payment of dividends. I give each company a weight appropriate to its size. It is important that only shares traded on the stock exchange are taken into account. free float).

Where did this data come from? From space. Real spreads with commissions or without are 2 times bigger. Mockery.

      Hi Hugu,

It's true that spreads with most DAX brokers have jumped over the past month - mainly due to increased market volatility. The list was last updated at the beginning of January, which we also mention in the article. In the near future, we plan to re-measure the average values of spreads and update the statement again.

We have added a new line to the statement - "Average spread for day X". We will update these values once a month. We measured the spreads yesterday and in fact they are higher (albeit slightly) than the minimums declared by the brokers. Of course, temporary spikes in spreads can happen all the time, but ultimately in our measurement they did not have much impact on the average.

from the whole list, the best on dax is a tickmill. if someone does not need a lot of leverage is certainly a good option but if you have a smaller depot and you do not get a professional client, this is only IC MARKETS.

I do (even addicted: D) scalping on DAX and have already tested 15 brokers. A little flight, but it doesn't matter. Tickmill is the best. At Polish brokers, I do not recommend ...
